Helen, I’ve known you for about six years and all during
this time I have seen women of all races admire your eye for
style. When did you first notice other people copying your
ways?
Helen:
Since my teenage years in high school my friends and some
family members have liked my approach to style and interior
accessories. I like to coordinate colors and textures in my
home and in what I wear.
Blackfunnel:
Let’s talk about candles, what do you look for when you shop
for them, and what’s your criteria for color selection?
Helen:
I like for my candles to enhance the color scheme of the
room where there are being placed. For example, in my living
room the furniture color scheme is light blue, dark blue,
and beige. So, I look for candles that match these same
colors. Then, it is important to select sizes and shapes
that compliment each other.
Blackfunnel:
The situation with Martha Stewart is certainly unfortunate,
but how does this open the door for your online company?
Helen:
“It
gives the Under Dog a chance”. Urban Women who like to
explore their feminine side with great smelling and colorful
bed and bath accessories, now can give an Urban brand a
chance to earn their business.
Blackfunnel:
Spring is in the air which means its time to change bed
sets, could you tell us what colors would be good for this
time of year?
Helen:
“Pink,
Yellow, Turquoise, Powder Blue, Orange, Violet, and Beige”
are the colors to look for this season.
Blackfunnel:
Why did you partner with Domestications and Discount candles

Helen:
